I used to have cats as a child but in recent years have had to make do with a friendly cat, an Australian Mist, from next door who would come into our garden everyday (and sometimes into house).   We live in a house with a good sized garden in North London.  Now that our neighbour and her cat have moved away, we would like to connect with another cat nearby.
